In this section we perform analysis of the level of economic and financial crime in different regions and countries of the world. Specifically, the level of economic and financial crime is pursued through the lens of four components of crime namely corruption, shadow economy, risk of money laundering and risk of cyber attack, but also through the lens of an aggregate score on all four dimensions (FinCrime index).
Interactive maps for all components of economic and financial crime are presented, allowing the measurement and visualization of the level of crime by countries and regions around the world.
We perform correlative analysis between economic and financial factors and levels of economic and financial crime, in order to identify the potential determinants of the level of economic and financial crime.
In addition, comparisons are made of the average levels of economic and financial crime as well as of the determinants of economic and financial crime in developed and developing countries, in order to highlight the differences between the average levels of financial indicators in the two samples of countries.
